BOOK INFORMATION (ENGLISH):
Al-Kafi or Usul Kafi is a Shiite collection of hadiths compiled by Abū Jaʿfar, Muḥammad b. Yaʿqūb b. Isḥāq al-Kulaynī (255/869 - 329/940). Kulayni compiled this book based on the disciples of the Ahl al-Bayt and the important and reliable narrators of the Shia and Ahl al-Sunnah. It has taken almost twenty years to compile this book. There are a total of 16,199 Hadiths in the collection.
To write this book, Kulayni traveled to almost all the scholarly and hadith centers of his time, such as Iran, Syria, Iraq, and Saudi Arabia, and even traveled to villages to hear and receive hadith from the elders. Islamic teachings and rules, especially the teachings of the Shia school, are considered to be the first and most important source for inference and derivation.
Al-Kafi basically consists of three parts
- Usūl al-Kāfī: Usul al-Kafi deals with the principles of religion
- Furū al-Kāfī: Furu al-Kafi deals with jurisprudence matters
- Rawdat al-Kāfī: Rawdat al-Kafi deals with various issues

الکافی یا اصول کافی ایک شیعہ مجموعۂ احادیث ہے جو ابوجعفر محمد بن یعقوب بن اسحاق کلینی 328ھ / 329ھ، نے مرتب کیا۔ کلینی نے اس کتاب کو اہل بیت کے شاگردوں اور شیعہ و اہل سنت کے اہم اور معتبر راویوں کی روایات کی بنیاد پر مرتب کیا۔ اس کتاب کو تالیف کرنے میں تقریبًا بیس سال لگے ہیں۔ اس کتاب میں کل 16,199 روایات ہیں۔
کلینی نے اس کتاب کو لکھنے کے لیے اپنے زمانہ کے تقریبًا تمام علمی اور حدیثی مراکز جیسے ایران، شام، عراق اور سعودی عرب کا سفر کیا یہاں تک کہ بزرگوں سے حدیث کو سننے اور حاصل کرنے میں قریہ اور دیہات کا سفر کیا اس لحاظ سے اسلامی تعلیمات اوراحکام خصوصا مکتب تشیع کی تعلیمات کو استنباط اوراستخراج کرنے کے لیے سب سے پہلا اور اہم منبع سمجھا جاتا ہے ۔
الکافی بنیادی طور پر تین حصوں پر مشتمل ہے
اصول الکافی: اصول کافی میں دین کے اصولوں کے بارے میں بتایا گیا ہے
فروع الکافی: فروع الکافی میں فروع دین یعنی فقہی احکام کے بارے میں بتایا گیا ہے
روضتہ الکافی: روضتہ الکافی میں متفرقات مسائل کے بارے میں بتایا گیا ہے
